What's Wrong

Elizabeth and Tony don't know what to do about their yard. The grass is dying and all the shrubs are dying. We discussed some options and hopefully they will get the help they need. But in the mean time we discussed some new plants for their landscape...when it's time to plant again.

-Loropetalum

-Sandankwa Viburnum

-Variegated Privet

These three vines are evergreen vines in Central Texas

-Tangerine Beauty Crossvine

-Star Jasmine

-Coral Honeysuckle

Great summber bloomers in Central Texas

-Pride of Barbados

-Firebush

-Pink Pavonia

Ever notice deer don't like to eat gray or silver plants?

-Lambs Ear\

-Powis Castle Artemisia

-Dusty Miller

More food deer don't like

-Salvia greggii

-Blue Plumbago

-Gold Star Esperanza

-Butterfly Vine- aka Mascagnia. Not because butterflies like it but because the seed pods look like butterfies.

-Tuscan Blue Rosemary- this herb is a shrub in Central Texas

-Sweet Potato Vine

If you are looking for a good drought resistant plant for the shade try Coral Bells. There are many varieties. Here are 3.

-Holly Fern

-Oakleaf Hydrangea

-Southern Wood Fern

-Variegated Japanese Sedge

-Giant Leopard Plant

-Acanthus mollis

That's it for today!

Got any request. Send them to me and I'll see what I can do.
