Joel and Elsa don't have any plants in their landscape and have decided it's time. They do have some ideas. They know what they like, but need some help with the plants. Here are some of the plants that will definitely work in their yard.
-Katie Ruellia is a great summer bloomer. You can find them that bloom pink or purple.
-Coral Drift Rose stays short and is essentially care free.
-Blue Daze blooms like a champ all summer.
-Radiance Abelia is variegated and is very compact.
-Pinkie Indian Hawthorne puts on a show every spring.
-Bicolor Iris will bloom all summer if it's sunny where you plant it.
-Bright and Tight Cherry Laurel will stay compact and about the size of the corner of the house.
-Sunshine Ligustrum will catch your eye. With a little shearing you can keep it under 4' tall.
-Bush Germander is drought resistant and even has blue flowers early in the spring.
-Purple Trailing Lantana will bloom all the way up to Christmas.
-Autumn Sage blooms during the hot summer.
-Cherry Blast Loropetalum is a medium size evergreen shrub with burgundy foliage
-Kaleidoscope Abelia is bright yellow variegation and cooler temperatures will bring on an orange color to the leaves for a while
-Variegated Flax Lily has variegated leaves that stand about 18" tall.
-Stella de Oro Day Lilies are a great bloomer in Texas
-Lord Baltimore is a hardy hibiscus that blooms all summer.
-Creeping Jenny is a colorful ground cover.
-Blue Plumbago will bloom all summer in full or part sun.
And if you want to screen off the neighbors, here are three good plants that will do exactly that:
-Basham's Party Pink Crapemyrtle is the biggest crapemyrtle for Texas landscapes.
-Potomac Crapemyrtle has the best fall color in my opinion
-Loquat is another good one that also produces an edible fruit.
Well, that's it for now. Let me know if you have any questions
